These pictures of Dad and Aunt Hattie were taken on TerMaat Road, not too far from Oostburg. Here is a Google Maps link. The pictures are from 1989.

Dear Martha,
I was doing genealogy research and all of a sudden I pulled up a picture of Aunt Hattie and Uncle Corneal. Oh my God, I was laughing and crying at the same time. It was so wonderful to see them in all your pictures. I take it you are the child of a brother of hers? (She was sure the one for genealogy)
Oh my gosh, I/we miss Hattie!!!!! and her wonderful conversations, humor (and German Potato Salad.)-and tulips. I remember all the fun we would have as kids coming to visit them in summer. We would be up in Sheboygan for about two weeks and go to the lake and visit everyone. I always loved going there.
My mom is Irene deGeus and is Hattie and Corneals niece. I'd love to visit via e-mail with you sometime if you are agreeable.I will leave you my e-mail address: Thanks for the reminder of the fun and simple times with those we love and miss.
All the best,
Nancy Hasenstein-Kleffman

Martha,
What a delight for me to "stumble upon" your blog and the accompanying photographs! My name is Tom TerMaat and I live in Grand Rapids. Your Great Uncle Chris and Great Aunt Sarah were my great grandparents. Your cousin (?) John was my grandpa.
I found my way over to your flickr photostream and loved all the old photos! The photo titled "johntnpa" on page 19 shows my grandpa at about the time my Dad, Richard (Dick), was born (late '30s). My parents actually have the same Four Generations photo (page 1) proudly displayed in their home. That photo shows my grandpa John as a baby. It must have been taken in early 1913, from what I can tell.
Thank you for gathering and posting these wonderful photographs. I'm going to tell my parents and sisters about your site. I'm sure they'll get a real kick out of seeing these pictures.
I'm including my email address and I would enjoy hearing from you and getting to know you (seeing that we're related and all).
Best regards,
Tom
